DRAWING FLOWERS & OTHER LIVING PLANTS

6-Week Art Class
Instructor: Keith Mueller

This series of 6 classes will focus on capturing the range of forms and textures of flowers and other living plants โ€“ from roots to stem, leaves, petals, and pistils. Emphasis will be on working from actual living subjects. After several classes in the library, as the weather allows, we will move outside to work directly from nature.

Students will learn both basic and refined techniques using graphite pencils to lay a foundation for more complex media: ink, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, and oil.

Individual attention will be given to beginning, intermediate, and advanced artists.

Basic drawing tools (paper, pencils, and erasers) will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks (9x12 or 12x16), pencils, and erasers.

Students will also need to bring a living flower or other plant to each class, as well as provide their own portable chairs for working outside; their own easels are optional.

Registration is required. For adults and seniors.
